Trollope was a prolific writer, penning 47 novels and 19 collections of short stories, along with other articles, reviews and non-fiction works. He worked with illustrators that helped bring visual imagery to his stories; many of his works were initially featured in periodic serials and parts before being sold in book form by one of several publishers.
